guest was Salil Chaudhuri. NABC started to honour
foreigners (other than Indian) whose contributions
were noteworthy in Bengali culture(arts/literature).
1983 our 1st. recipient was Prof. Agheyananda-who
was a volunteer for Netaji Subhas Bose in Germany,
travelling on foot from Haridwar to Kanchipuram
and took Hindu dharma. Well versed in Sanskrit,
Bengali. He was very close to all the Indian leader
of pre-independence. Later on we honor Prof. Dimak,
Prof. Gordon, Ralph Nicholas, Carol Solomon, Leena
Fruzzeti, Rosen Rocher, Eva Lander and many more.
Attendence increased from 200 to 800. 1 day event
became 2 days events. CAB decided to move the
venue to other cities.
